The electrostatic torpedo is a type of underwater ordnance employed against the seaQuest DSV 4600 during the Attack on Gedrick Power Station.

In use as early as 2018 CE, electrostatic torpedoes are a type of energy-based weapon that allows for disabling ships versus the use of conventional destructive warheads. Delta 4 launches one such torpedo against seaQuest after Marilyn Stark's computer virus effectually disables seaQuest's navigation and weapon systems, which initially ruptures a section of seaQuest's pliant, self-sealing bioskin hull (DSV: "To Be or Not to Be").
