After being relieved of duty by Commander [[Jonathan Ford]], she left the service, although her security clearance was not rescinded during the subsequent 13 months, wherein the '''[[United Earth/Oceans Organization]]''' was given form.

With a deep familiarity of ''seaQuest''<nowiki/>'s computer systems, she installs a virus deep within its core during its UEO refit, before going AWOL and offering her services to disgruntled industrialist [[George Le Chein]].

Le Chein provides Stark commands a renegade [[Typhoon-class|''Typhoon''-class]] [[Delta 4]] submarine, which carries out attacks on mining outposts and the [[Gedrick Power Station]] to lure ''seaQuest'' into her trap, unaware that [[Nathan Bridger]] is aboard. Her attacks seem to be a deliberate attempt to destroy her former command and establish control over the seas. During the attacks, '''Stark''' displays a ruthless nature, willingly endangering her crew and threatening insubordination. However, she also demonstrates moments of intense focus and determination, particularly when engaged in combat. Her ultimate goal is to dismantle the established order and take over the seas, revealing her ambitious and power-seeking nature. Her crew's devotion highlights her charismatic yet dangerous leadership style.
