The '''Gedrick Power Station''' is an undersea, geothermal power plant located in the [[Gedrick Territory]] in the [[Marquessas Fracture Zone]] in the [[South Pacific Ocean]]. The power station is a large, industrial complex, with a central heat exchanger, vertical vents, and a network of industrial buildings, storage tanks, and pipes. Built over a volcanic vent, it harnesses the trapped heat to generate energy for its turbines.

In 2018 CE, the Gedrick Power Station is attacked by the renegade [[Typhoon-class|''Typhoon''-class]] submarine, under the command of Captain [[Marilyn Stark]]. The attack is unprovoked and is carried out with [[E-Plasma torpedoes]], which inflict significant damage to the station. The station's outer structure is cracked open, and electrical plasma discharge is visible in the surrounding area. The attack causes a distress signal from the power station that is picked up by ''[[SeaQuest DSV|seaQuest]]''. The attack also causes considerable damage to the station's minimal defenses.

The station's importance is highlighted by the fact that it is a key energy source. The power station has 59 workers and 127 family members on site. The attack on the station leads to multiple casualties. The damage to the station also results in a potential environmental disaster, because the station uses "poisonous gasses that are usually captured and disposed of." If the venting cap at the base of the station were to break, these gases could spill out across the ocean floor, potentially destroying all living plant and animal life within hundreds of miles .

The damage to the station is extensive, and the station's systems are significantly impaired. The station’s hull is damaged and the outer pliant skin has revealed itself. Additionally, the station's communications and life support systems are compromised, and there is significant flooding. However, ''seaQuest'' is able to assess the damage and make repairs. The hull is repaired with a temporary patch and the station's leak is stopped.
